Pax Christi Pastoral Centre is a Diocesan centre located in the suburbs of Newcastle about fifteen minutes walk from taxis and the centre of town. It is 
situated halfway between Johannesburg and Durban. It has lovely matured gardens, and has a quiet atmosphere which is ideal for many gatherings.
It is a centre of service to the Diocese – that is, of service to our Bishop, Priests, Religious and laity, to assist them in the conversion or renewal of the diocese – “to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
The Centre AIMS – to promote the building up of a prophetic Church that includes the participation of all members. We envisage the promotion of a Church of dialogue between all members, recognizing their uniqueness, diversity and complementarities. It aims to reveal itself as a sacrament of peace, justice and the care of creation. We aim to promote a Church that is alive – open to an ongoing renewal. The future Church of this Diocese is a Church at the service of the Kingdom of God. All the faithful by means of our baptism have a contribution and a role to play in the transformation of the Diocese and of our country.
